Your Pain
The Pain Scale

Where Does It Hurt?
Does your pain stay in one location or does it ‘move around’? Can you point to it (even if it’s in several spots) or does it ‘hurt all over’. Can you describe where it hurts, when it hurts the most, when it hurts the least, and if the pain radiates? These are important questions Dr. Cooksey will be asking to determine what treatments are the best for YOU.
Does It Hurt When Your Adjusted?
It shouldn’t. Muscles hurt, bones and joints are adjusted. Muscle spasms can cause discomfort while adjusting but this kind of discomfort should dissipate quickly. Dr. Cooksey uses several adjusting techniques, ranging from the "traditional" to the ultra-specific yet extremely gentle techniques. There may be a need for ultrasound, heat, ice, or other therapies prior to receiving an adjustment. Dr. Cooksey will employ these therapies when necessary to increase the effectiveness of each adjustment and therefore reduce the total number of adjustments necessary. By relaxing muscles, reducing swelling, and increase blood flow around the areas being treated, each adjustment is becomes more effective.
